Celebrating Your Contribution to Scottish Cohort Studies

On 10th June 2018 we celebrated our participants contribution to Scottish Cohort Studies at New College, The University of Edinburgh.

Participants from Generation Scotland, Lothian Birth Cohort, Edinburgh Birth Cohort and Aberdeen Children of the 1950's were invited to attend an event celebrating their contribution to Scottish Cohort studies. Attendees had the opportunity to meet members of other cohorts over tea, coffee and refreshments and speak to the researchers involved.

Professor David Porteous presented a talk on Generation Scotland, describing our collaborative research on mental health, chronic pain, lung disease and more. He also highlighted the strength of Scottish data and our ability to link NHS records. You can watch his talk below:

Further presentations were given and talks can be watched in the links below:

Throughout the talks, attendees were requested to vote with their opinions on a number of topics that are currently being discussed by scientists. This had some interesting outcomes that will help the researchers plan for their future work.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and all those who attended for a fascinating and insightful day.
