Interested in Joining Generation Scotland / University of Edinburgh Health Young Person's Advisory Group (YPAG)?

Researchers at the University of Edinburgh are looking to recruit young people aged 12-15 to be part of their Youth Advisory Group which will shape future health research relating to young people. 

We are looking for young people who are passionate about improving health and wellbeing research and believe that young people from all backgrounds can bring valuable skills and experiences. We would be grateful if you could circulate this opportunity to young people who may be interested in taking part.

The panel aims to:  

  • Ensure that the needs of the young people we work with are included within health research  
  • Help set strategic direction within our services in relation to youth engagement 
  • Ensure that young people’s voices are heard and represented across our work  

What’s in it for young people? 

The opportunity to learn and shape health research in Scotland leading to improved health outcomes. 

About the meetings:  

  • The group will meet online and offline (in Edinburgh), depending on the group's preference. 
  • Reasonable travel reimbursements will be offered
  • There will be approximately 6-8 meetings between March and October 2023

To apply, young people can choose to either fill in the attached application or send us a short video letting us know:    

  • name, age, and where they are from
  • why they are keen to join the group 
  • what their initial thoughts are when thinking about health research
  • what they can bring to the group
