What is CovidLife?

We’ve designed surveys to understand the effects of the COVID-19 measures on people’s health and well-being. Find out more about our surveys here.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is on everyone’s minds. The rules are changing over time until the pandemic is in check. Every person and each household will experience the effects differently. Some will cope well, others won't. For this reason, we felt it was important to understand the full impact of the pandemic.

Long-term, we want to understand how people are feeling and coping with the impact of COVID-19 . We share our results as widely as possible and encourage researchers to use our data. Our results can help support future research and inform and influence health policy.

CovidLife

We invited people across the UK, over the age of 18, to take part in the CovidLife survey. They were asked questions about the impact the pandemic had on their life. The survey included questions on education, mental health, well-being and more. You can see a summary of the main findings here:

We then released a second and third survey for volunteers to answer, to see if there'd been any changes in opinion over time. All CovidLife surveys are closed.

TeenCovidLife

Similarly, we invited young people to take part in TeenCovidLife . We invited young people aged 12-17, living in Scotland, to take part. We wanted to know how the pandemic had affected their school and home life. You can find our first set of results here:

We also released a second survey to see if there were any changes over time and the results can be found in the link below:

TeenCovidLife: Survey 2 Results

We then created a third survey, which recently closed. All TeenCovidLife surveys are closed.

RuralCovidLife

RuralCovidLife was created to understand how COVID-19 measures affected the health and well-being of people living in rural Scottish communities. The questions were tailored and designed by people from rural communities. We did this to make sure we asked about topics relevant to our volunteers. Our results have been published here:
